The South Korean was in circulation in the period 1902 - 1910.

At the moment, banknotes in circulation are from the series of 2006-2007.

Banknotes in circulation have nominal values of 1000, 5000, 10 000 and 50 000 won.

Coins are in denominations of 1, 5, 10, 50, 100 and 500 won.

Coins in circulation were minted in the period 1982-2006.
